What is PECAA’s Growing Through Giving Program?
Launched at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Nashville, PECAA’s Growing Through Giving program is designed to give Members an easy way to support charitable projects within the optometric community while also providing a simple and effective method to grow your practice through cause-related marketing and branding.

What is the Goal of Growing Through Giving?
The goal is to raise $100,000 in 2018 through a combination of PECAA member support, PECAA vendor support, and PECAA contributions to support Optometry Giving Sight’s efforts to provide eye exams and glasses to 20,000 children in developing countries.
How can PECAA members support the Growing Through Giving Initiative?
There are two easy ways to give:
- Sign up to donate 5% (or more) of each of your 2017 IncentivEYES® rebate checks (for the average PECAA member, this is roughly $400 total for the year). The commitment is for 4 consecutive quarters (Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 of 2017)
- A one-time cash donation
PECAA and Premier Vendor Partner ZEISS have agreed to combine efforts to match the donations of the first 150 member practices to sign up.
This match is available to all participants regardless of which wholesale lab supplier you choose to support. “ZEISS is proud to contribute to PECAA’s Growing Through Giving initiative. Our participation is a natural reflection of both our strong partnership with PECAA, as well as our company’s desire to support those in need” said Jens Boy, President, Carl Zeiss Vision, North America.
What do PECAA Members have to say about the program?
Signing up to contribute a portion of our rebate check to Optometry Giving Sight was a no-brainer. This organization does an incredible amount of charitable work each year. Through these selfless acts of kindness, they not only bring eye health care to those in need but also spread goodwill for the optometric profession. Having it deducted automatically from the IncentiveEYES rebate checks makes it so easy and I do not have to remember to cut a separate check later. I would encourage all PECAA members to sign up for this easy and so worthy program.

We were very excited to hear about the PECAA “Growing Through Giving” program at the Annual Meeting. I’ve wanted to do something like this for a long time but being busy, have never spent the time to find the correct charitable program to give to or how to set it up. This program is perfect, giving to an extremely worthwhile cause that falls right in line with our overall purpose to see that patients keep their vision for a lifetime. This program is seamless, in that we automatically give a portion of our quarterly rebate. Innexus then handles promoting this to patients through in-office materials and on our website. In fact, we were so excited about the program and being able to give back that we doubled the amount of contribution that was being asked for. Not only am I personally excited, but the entire staff is behind this and feels really good about what we are doing and what PECAA and Zeiss are doing to support this.

How does a PECAA Member Practice Benefit from Growing Through Giving?
Growing Through Giving is an investment in your practice, as this cause-related marketing will help drive growth and enhance your brand. Your donation is tax deductible.
For the first 150 PECAA member practices to sign up, you will receive the exclusive Digital Marketing Toolkit for free.
About Optometry Giving Sight
PECAA’s charity of choice, Optometry Giving Sight, is the only global fundraising initiative that specifically targets the prevention of blindness and impaired vision due to uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses. More than 600 million people around the world are blind or vision impaired
because they do not have access to the eye examination and glasses they need.
“We are excited to be joining with PECAA as its charity of choice” explains Clive Miller, CEO of Optometry Giving Sight. “The support of donors will help give the funding of urgently needed training and service delivery projects in underserved communities.”
