Performance reviews present opportunities and challenges. On one hand, reviews are the primary vehicle for an employer and employee to engage in a disciplined, in-depth meeting of minds on the working relationship. On the other hand, if not carried out properly, they may actually lead to misunderstandings that lower morale and reduce an employee’s motivation.
