About the Leadership Academy

The OMCC Leadership Academy is accredited by The University of Houston, College of Optometry and is designed to assist attendees in mastering the skills of successful individuals and time management skills to be a high-functioning Office Manager in an eye care practice.

The Leadership Academy is recommended for graduates of the original OMCC; seasoned managers and others who already have a significant management background, but did not take the original OMCC.

The program costs $495 for Members and $795 for non-members.

The capability to provide information to another efficiently and effectively. Managers who possess good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills help facilitate the sharing of information between people within a company.


Interpersonal communication is the  process by which people exchange information, feelings, and meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages. It is face-to-face communication. Included in the OMCC Leadership Academy is an Interpersonal Skills Profile Analysis that is provided to each attendee. This Interpersonal Communication Skills Inventory is designed to provide individuals with some insights into their communication strengths and potential areas for development. By answering each question candidly, an individual will receive a profile that displays their level of competence in four key communication areas.


Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter – not harder – so that you get more done in less time.


The Net Promoter Score is an index ranging from -100 to 100 that measures the willingness of customers to recommend a company’s products or services to others. It is used as a proxy for gauging the customer’s overall satisfaction with a company’s product or service and the customer’s loyalty to the brand.


The Leadership Academy consists of 6 one-hour webinars that will take place on: 

  • Session 1 – October 14
  • Session 2 – October 21
  • Session 3 – November 11
  • Session 4 – November 18
  • Session 5 – December 2
  • Session 6 – December 9

The webinar sessions are held from 4:00pm – 5:00pm Pacific Time.

Registered participants will receive a GoToWebinar invitation for the series of 6 webinars. These will also be recorded and posted for participants the day following the webinar.
