About the Leadership Academy
The Office Manager Leadership Academy is accredited by The University of Houston, College of Optometry and is designed to assist attendees in understanding leadership, developing people management and communication skills; improving time management and employing a system to exponentially grow the business by listening to the patient.
The Leadership Academy is recommended for graduates of the original OMCC; seasoned managers and others who already have a significant management background, but did not take the original OMCC.
The program costs $495 for Members and $795 for non-members. Previous attendees of the OMCC can attend the Leadership Academy for a reduced fee of $345; non-members at $645.
Curriculum
The title 'manager' denotes a specific role within an organization's hierarchy, while referring to someone as a 'leader' has a more fluid meaning. “ Manager is a title. It's a role and set of responsibilities,” writes leadership coach Doc Norton in Forbes. “ Having the position of manager does not make you a leader. The best managers are leaders, but the two are not synonymous.”
Interpersonal communication is the process by which people exchange information, feelings, and meaning through verbal and non-verbal messages. It is face-to-face communication. Included in the OMCC Leadership Academy is an Interpersonal Skills Profile Analysis that is provided to each attendee. This Interpersonal Communication Skills Inventory is designed to provide individuals with some insights into their communication strengths and potential areas for development. By answering each question candidly, an individual will receive a profile that displays their level of competence in four key communication areas.
Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter ‐ not harder ‐ so that you get more done in less time.
The Net Promoter Score is an index ranging from -100 to 100 that measures the willingness of customers to recommend a company's products or services to others. It is used as a proxy for gauging the customer's overall satisfaction with a company's product or service and the customer's loyalty to the brand.
Schedule
The Leadership Academy consists of 6 Live one-hour webinars. The webinar sessions are held from 4:00pm – 5:00pm Pacific Time. Registered participants will receive instructions to register through Zoom to attend the webinars. These will also be recorded and posted for participants the day following the webinar.

- May 3, 2023: Using NPS to Grow Your Business
- May 10, 2023: Session 6: Program Review & Test Preparation
- May 10-14: Final Test
