Registration is now open for the 2015 Annual Meeting, May 14th – 17th at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Gainey Ranch in beautiful, and warm, Scottsdale, AZ. The Annual Meeting is PECAA’s signature event of the year and offers unparalleled business-focused education and networking experiences. Regardless the size of your practice, the Annual Meeting will provide the knowledge and tools needed to meet the needs of your unique business.
The Annual Meeting is open to doctors and key staff members and there are a limited number of spots available. Up to five total people per practice may register, including at least one doctor. After the popularity of the Business Symposium, we are expecting the meeting to fill up quickly! That means it’s very important to register early to secure your spot in this can’t-miss event!
Here’s what your colleagues are saying about their past Annual Meeting experiences…
- It was nice to be in classes geared toward running our businesses and the future of running our businesses. Not your typical OD meeting!
- Very easy to relax and enjoy some time away from the office while keeping up with the latest challenges to our profession. I would highly recommend the meeting to all PECAA Members.
- PECAA is pure class from top to bottom. The meetings are run smoothly and elegantly, with plenty of time to learn and have fun.
- I was greatly surprised at the extent of planning that went into one of the best business-oriented meetings that I have ever attended. The courses were spot on in their relevance to my practice and I came away with many ideas that I have already started to use in my practice.
- The meeting keeps me up to date on current trends, gives a clearer picture of the future and keeps me focused on my goals. I always return home energized and ready to implement ideas discussed.
- I came away from the meeting assured that membership will be a great benefit not only in controlling costs of goods, but also accessing resources to become better at the business side of independent practice.
- This was the first meeting I have attended with PECAA and it was absolutely worth the trip and time away from my clinic. The education and experience gained here is not what you typically get at a state association meeting since this is geared toward private practice owners.

The Greatest Generation you Ever Hired (and Now Fired): Managing Different Generations in the Workplace, and Letting Go of Oldies-But-Goodies
Josh Sears, Attorney – sponsored by ZEISS
Friday, May 15th – 10:15am – 11:15am
Employers often complain about “ these kids today”: lazy, irresponsible, and unreliable. But, workers on the other end of the age spectrum can be burdensome, too. The economy in recent years has forced (or scared) workers to stay on the job for longer and longer, and their abilities, performance, and attitude – while perhaps the gold standard at one time – may no longer fit with the ever-evolving needs of the company. Whether it’s a sense of debt, guilt, or just plain old human sympathy, employers balk at imposing new duties on these workers, or thought yet: finding a way to let them go. Understanding the key issues in employing these older workers, and learning ways to let them go when the time is right is crucial to avoiding a quietly (but steeply) rising source of liability for employers.
